Are we now beginning to see how much more alike we are than different? I believe with all my heart that we are seeing our oneness more—not all the way, but more. Many have walked an unkind, jagged path of separation, wounded and wounding, with tired feet and weary hearts.
The smooth and dear path of love and respect forallcalls us toward the future Dr. King saw in his dreams. Let us dream awake his vision.
Looking back over the last year, many women’s hearts were deeply saddened by the awareness that the disrespect most of them had encountered throughout their lives, was going to become normalized and accepted. Leaders (mostly male, from an empowered and distorted patriarchy) from business, government, entertainment, news, and the arts who had been sexually inappropriate or worse, continued to be elected, promoted, celebrated, and imbued with more and more money and power.
Many of us find ourselves swirling in a sea of confusion—deciding how to respond to all of the disturbing changes around us. Do I fight this (fill in the blank)? How do I hold a loving space for something new to emerge? What on earth do I do?
